Wednesday July 17 Leviticus 19: 1-19 Qn.7

You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the LORD your God. (10) Our God is called Jehovah. He created man in his own image, and he wants every person he created to have a good life. However, sin has brought bad consequences in human relationships, including those who have surplus food, who eat and leave what they go to throw away into the garbage, whereas there are those with nothing to eat, who go to pick that food waste from the garbage. In his plan to save man, God wants the rich to take care of the poor, helping them to earn worthy livelihood. Fear your God: I am the LORD. (14): The Holy Bible uses the word respect instead of fear. It reminds us of what God said to man: ” And he said to man,“Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.” (Job 28.28) God’s fear and respect will enable us to follow all the commandments given to us in the passage we read today. Warning: Let Verse 15 urge you to avoid taking side in judgment, even where it requires you to defend the poor or the weak.
