Tuesday 30 July Leviticus 27. 1-13 Qn.4
And if someone is too poor to pay the valuation, then he shall be made to stand before the priest, (8): God does not ask us for much, but rather what we have. He knows our wealth even if we want to hide it from people, but no one can hide from God. So even the poor must make sacrifices. God has many ways to protect the poor, and to get for him what he has to offer (Mat.17.27). God also uses the leadership he has placed among his people (Rom.13.1). That is why the poor man had to be brought to the priest and he counted what he had to offer according to his wealth. But if he wished to redeem it, he could add a fifth to the valuation.(13): God appointed priests who were supposed to help solve the problems the Israelites were facing. The Church of God should pay more attention to the issue of leadership and law. If a problem is found, it should be addressed by the relevant authority. Otherwise people would live in chaos which would lead into a mess, sin and slow progress. Prayer: God, enable me to be the good priest of my family, so that I may help them to know that you are in control of everything. Song 192 (Praises).
