Tuesday, 16 July 1 Timothy 6.11-121 Qn. 6

They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share (18): Paul, who has been instructing different categories of people, now continues with the rich, and in regard to their possessions, the first thing he asks is to prioritize good works, including generous giving. The main reason for the rich to be asked to put good works first is that we should trust God more than our wealth. And where our hearts are, there will also be our wealth (Luke 12.33-34). I wish you to strive to live in that country. Guard the deposit entrusted to you (20): The gospel is the hope given to all believers (1.12). Timothy as the young pastor of the Church is reminded that he must protect the foundation of the wealth that was given to him. In this period, there are many who wander away from the work assigned to us, but you, man of God, avoid that, but follow righteousness, reverence for God, love, patience and kindness (11).
