Kuwa 1 Taliki 12 Gicurasi Abagalatiya 5.13-26

Taliki 12 Gicurasi

Ikib.4

For the whole law is fulfilled in one word:  “You shall love your neighbor as yourself (14): Paul went on reminding the Galatians that they were called for freedom, but added that they should not confuse it with getting involved with things that contradict the works of service to others. Probably some disagreements might have emerged between those who believed in circumcision and those who didn’t.  That could hinder the growth of the Church because they could hardly display good reputation (15). Paul is urging them to love one another under the influence of the Holy Spirit instead of following the desires of the flesh. Those who do the works of the flesh will not inherit the kingdom of God (21). And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires (24): Those who have received Christ in their lives no longer cleave for fresh desires because they have made a decision to crucify the flesh and let it die (2.20). Baptism is a symbol of dying in the flesh and the person resurrecting as a new creation (Rom. 6.1-6). The Holy Spirit is the one who leads us in righteousness, thus no longer driven away by the flesh into pride, quarrels, jealousy, and so on. Prayer Request: Ask God for the strength to overcome the flesh that always tends to regain its power. Song 318 (Praises).
