Wednesday 5 June Leviticus 6.12-23 Qn .4
They have to offer one tenth of an ephah of the flour regularly (20): Leave alone giving offerings on behalf of the people of Israel, the priests were assigned also to offer some for themselves and they had to do it on a daily basis, and this could be a long lasting legacy (15). The difference is that the offering was flour mixed with oil to produce fragrance to please God. (14) This could be a commandment with a legacy that the priests were not to forget and was to be handed over to the successors. This is the commandment to the sacrifices for sins (18) This sacrifice had the same value as that of the sacrifice to be burnt that remained constantly in front of God. It was a sacrifice for sins but God called it very holy. Whoever touched on the meat had to be sanctified (20)! The priest who had to eat it could do so from the holy place (19). This shows us how the principles of God have set all about sin and repentance in the same order. Consider: Strive for peace with everyone; and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord (Heb.12:14). Song 83 (Salvation)
