Wednesday 4th June Acts 9.10-19a

Qn. 1

But the LORD said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel (15): As Jesus was asking Ananias to go to pray for Saul, he seemed to be hesitant as he had heard about how he was persecuting the saints (13, 14). Yet Jesus talked good of him, and told Ananias that he had been chosen to witness him. Anyone cleansed by Jesus, can be used for honorable use (2 Tim. 2.21). “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you came…(17b):  After Saul met Jesus and accepted him as his Savior and Lord, he started enjoying personal relationship with God (12). Before engaging himself into the work he had been called for, he had some time to pray and he was then filled with the Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus explained to him that he shall carry his name before the Gentiles and kings, and the children of Israel. Before being engaged into God’s service, the people of God need first to understand the power of the Holy Spirit and submit themselves to his leadership. Prayer: Lord Jesus, keep guiding me all along my Christian walk. Song 426 (Praises).
