Wednesday 2nd July Hosea 6.1-11; 7.1-7
Qn. 3
“Come, let us return to the LORD (1a): This was what God expected of them, at least if they had done it before the consequential suffering, just as they said, “For he has torn us, that he may heal us; (1b). People need to obey God before being beaten or behaving as forcefully doing what they have to do, like the psalmist declared (Ps. 32.9). What shall I do with you, O Ephraim?…(4): The LORD’s love for his people was the reason for him not to forsake them. The more they sinned, the more he reached out to them, so that they could repent and receive his forgiveness (6). But like Adam they transgressed the covenant; there they dealt faithlessly with me (7): A backslidden person no longer has fellowship with God, and even when he gets into trouble, instead of calling upon God, he goes to consult diviners. Prayer Request: Pray for the backsliders you know, and if at all you meet, tell them that God still loves them and extends his arms to receive them back.
