Wednesday 29 May Leviticus 1.1-17 Qn.4

May 29, 2024 - May 30, 2024

“If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male without blemish (3): For many readers, the book of Leviticus seems to be boring and not easy to understand since it says things that are no longer practicable. All the sacrifices of cows, sheep, goats, birds, fish and others were all replaced by the only sacrifice, that is Lord Jesus on the cross, where he shed his blood above all of these and paid the sins of all the people at once. We no longer offer animals for sacrifices but we are called to give our own bodies to be the holy sacrifices (Rom. 12.1). “If his offering to the Lord is a burnt offering of birds, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves or pigeons (14). We people mostly value the size and the weight of the offerings, but God wants us all to approach him the way we are. How do we approach God, and what is the state of our hearts? Are our hearts sanctified? Consider: The good person offers the right offering from his righteous heart (Luke 6.45a). Song 41 (Praises)
