Wednesday 28 February Isaiah 42.1-13 Qn.4,5
Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen… (1b): Some people consider this servant to be Cyrus, the king of Persia, that God used to take back the Jews from their captivity in Babylon. His name is openly spelled out (Isaiah 45.1). This Messiah who is called the servant is not an easy person himself, (John 8.16). He has been given the massage to bring back all the nations to righteousness. (Rom.12.13; Acts 10.28). What he says is true and speaking truth does not require stretching yourself out and changing the tone of your voice. What he was sent to do will be done silently and consistently till the end. That‘s no one else but the Messiah who sacrificed himself (Isaiah 53.7). Thanksgiving: Thank God because Jesus took all our accusations upon himself and willingly replaced us by being crucified on our behalf, and we are now praising God (Kol 2.14). Song 327 (Praises)
