Wednesday 25th June Psalm 98.1-9

June 25

Qn. 1

Oh sing to the LORD a new song,….(1): Even as some people say that this psalm was sung by the Israelites on their way from exile in Babylon, but it could have been written by David. Isaiah could have used some of the words of this psalm to declare God’s majesty and a period of new changes in Israel (Isaiah 40.9-11). This psalm called upon the people on earth to sing to God a new song. Even saved people have more than a thousand reasons to sing to God. With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise to the King, the LORD! (6): Despite that some of our churches hinder young people’s praises to God, with the pretext that they tend to make a lot of noise, yet this psalmist encourages people to make a joyful noise with the sound of the horn. The Bible tells us that even the priests sang praises to God with a loud voice (2 Chr. 20.19; Ezra 3.11-13). Consider: We cannot help talking about God’s kindness to us. Song 105 (Praises).
