Tuesday 9 January John 3.22-36 Qn.2,6

I am not the Christ, but  I have been sent before him (28): God has chosen John to precede Jesus to make the way clean, John explained well who he is , that he is not Christ. The work of John is to precede Jesus Christ. He says he is greatly humbled and Jesus is exalted (30). Some times people get appointed in positions and tend to be above the one who appointed them. John shows evidences that Jesus is above him: 1. He shows that Jesus came from heaven (31), 2. He shows that what Jesus says and does are not directed from any other place or person but from God (34), 3. What ever Jesus says is in line with God’s will (35). 4. Jesus has the authority and the ability to take those who believe in him and offer them eternal life. (36). Consider: what is appropriate is to put Jesus on the front line of our life, let him be visible than ourselves, since he who do not obey that child will never receive eternal life (36).
