Tuesday 26th August Job 8.1-22

August 26

Qn. 3, 6

“If you are pure and upright, surely then he will rouse himself for you and restore your rightful habitation (6): Bildad and Eliphaz are led by the same spirit (3-4, 20). To Bildad, it becomes clear that all Job’s tragedy was a result of his sins, including loss of the children, wealth, and falling sick. But could this be true? (1.5). He told Job that all his prayers and offerings were wasted (Is. 1.15). He had this to say, “If you had at least done as early as when the children were little, or by the time they were preparing for their feast, and mind you your prayers are useless unless you cleanse yourself; but God is acceptable to God (Ezek. 14.13-16). When a person points one finger to another person;  all the four remaining point to her or him. Eliphaz, Bildad, and some of us know God as the just Judge (3), but his justice goes hand in hand with his love. Even if Bildad was accusing Job, yet God passed through him some words to strengthen Job’s faith (20). Warning: Never hurry to accuse anybody for you never know what someone might be going through. Always seek God’s guidance.
