Tuesday 24th June Judges 13.1-25

“For behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. No razor shall come upon his head,….., and he shall begin to save Israel from the hand of the Philistines” (5): The Philistines oppressed the Israelites for 40 years, and during the time of Samson the Philistines had become so strong that the Israelites needed a liberator. Samson is not the only one about whom God’s purpose to use him was revealed before his birth, the same thing happened to John the Baptist, as God spoke about him before he was born (Luke 1.13-17). Jesus’ mission was also announced before his birth (Luke 1.31-33). Jeremiah was also told by God that he knew him before he created him (Jeremiah 1.5). It’s so amazing that God knew us before he created us, and ahead of time made a plan for what he has brought us for to the earth. And the woman bore a son and called his name Samson. And the young man grew, and the LORD blessed him (24): God’s promised never fails, his promise to the barren woman came to pass and she gave birth to a son that became a Nazirite (5). Consider: God fulfills his promises, you only have to keep trusting him. Song 15 (Salvation).
