Tuesday 20 February John 11.1-16 Qn.1,3

“Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I go to awaken him….” (11): Jesus’ time to save has come. Jesus often surprised people by doing the opposite of their expectations. At this time he was called to be with his special friends Mary and Martha, calling him because of their brother Lazarus who was sick (3,5). They must have been surprised because after Jesus listened to the story that the brother was sick, Jesus remained where he was for two more days. Lazarus died before Jesus reached their home. What a dangerous period to the sisters! They might have lost hope. Then Jesus told them plainly, “Lazarus has died, (14): Jesus confirmed that Lazarus was dead but he was ready to go and show another miracle, of resurrecting the dead. He ignored his disciples who discouraged him and only focused on what praised the name of God and which made the son praised too. Pray: God enable me to continue trusting you and to wait for your right time to rescue me. Song 159 (Praises)
