Tuesday 18 June 2 Corinthians 11.16-33 Qn .1

What I am saying with this boastful confidence, I say not as the Lord would but as a fool (17): Paul decided to use the Corinthian language (boastful confidence) but he explained well that it was foolishness. Those who preached false messages had all the reasons to commend themselves but whatever they had to boast about, Paul had the same. Paul was a Hebrew like them; Paul was an Israelite like them; in the spiritual realm what they believed to be possessing, Paul had even more than they had (22-23). If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness (30): Paul calls himself weak since he himself could not do anything, all what he could do was done through Christ. For that reason, he called foolishness what the false preachers said, since for him they had nothing to be proud of except Christ alone. The Bible tells us that whoever boasts should do so in the Almighty God. Testimony: Think if the Almighty God is worthy for you to boast about him; then share what you thank God for.
