Thursday 6 June Leviticus 7.1-27 Qn.4
This is the law of the guilt offering. It is most holy (1): This sacrifice is different from the sacrifice for sins, it is a sacrifice for someone who is condemned of the sin committed unintentionally (5:14), but the laws are the same (7). The priest removed blood (2) and some of the parts (3,4) and sacrificed them to the Almighty (5), but the rest and the flour with them are for the priest (8-9). But the person who eats of the flesh of the sacrifice of the Lord’s peace offerings while an uncleanness is on him, that person shall be cut off from his people (20) the laws of sacrifices had to be observed because failure to do so could cause danger rather than mercy. Jesus sacrificed himself only once for us but whoever approaches the holy communion uncleaned will also be condemned as the one who ate the sacrifices uncleaned (1Kor.11:27). Question: Do you consider this every time you happen to partake of the holy-communion? Song 84 (Praises)
