Thursday 5th June Acts 9.19b-30
Qn. 1, 3
And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.” (20): After his baptism, Saul boldly started proclaiming Jesus as the Savior. Those who heard him were surprised because they had known him as persecutor of the Church (20). A person who has become saved exhibits some change in action, speech, and even behavior. Saul’s gospel was about what he had personally experienced on his journey to Damascus. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come (2 Cor. 5.17). But Saul increased all the more in strength,…(22): It took Saul a lot of efforts to convince the Jews whom they were together persecuting the Church, that Jesus was the Christ. He was now a odd man out among them, and they were planning to kill him (22-23). When he reached Jerusalem, even the disciples could not trust him. In all these cases, he could give his testimony as to how he had met Jesus (26-27). Consider: After getting saved, it’s necessary that we give our testimony; telling people about our live before we got saved, how we met with Jesus, and how he has changed our lives for the better. Song 95 (Praises).
