Thursday 20 June 2 Corinthians 12.14-21 Qn.3

If I love you more, am I to be loved less (15): Though the love of the Corinthians for Paul was fading away, yet he loved them more and more and was giving himself for them. In addition, even those whom he sent to them as messengers like Tite; also gave themselves for the Corinthians (14-18). There is no doubt that Paul demonstrated to them the love of Christ he had known; that did not require one to be righteous first (Rom 5.8). For I fear that perhaps when I come I may find you not as I wish (20): Paul knew all the ways of sin that that the Corinthians were involved in; but he wished that by the time he had to be back to visit them, they would have ruled out all (20-21). This shows us how God is always waiting for the sinner to repent (2 Pet 3:9). Do we love those who have left the way of salvation this way and humbly? Pray: Pray for the servants of God that they may not be discouraged by the lack of love in those who pretend to have known God, as by the time we are approaching the last day, love keeps fading away (2Tim 3.2).
