Thursday 13 June Psalm 71.14-24 Qn.5
But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more (14): This psalm writer looks back to acknowledge his walk with God, remembers a number of dangers against which God protected him in the past, and all this drives him into thanksgiving every single day. As he thinks about his his mockers around him making him sad everyday; and God’s rescue always available in each and every situation, he just fails to have words to express his gratitude towards God. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come… (18): His wishes are for God to give him long life with a vision: to tell his generation and the next generation the power of God. Talking about the power of God has to be passed on from one generation to another (Isaiah 51.9-11). Remember: Your mouth should always thank God for all your lifetime (24). Song 21 (Praises)
