Thursday 1 February Psalm 68.1-21 Qn.2
God shall arise, his enemies shall be scattered; and those who hate him shall flee before him (1): And whenever the ark set out, Moses said “Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered…. (Numbers 10.35). In our case, when we are sure that God is on our side, our victory is guaranteed even when the battle is not yet over …Father of the fatherless and protector of widows (6): Orphans, widows, the poorest, the needy and prisoners are people to whom God offers special care, and delightfully strive to protect. We are also warned against oppressing them but always looking for ways to protect them (Exodus 22. 21-22). Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation (19): Do you remember that you are in the hands of God who can do everything, who takes care of you day by day. That’s the clear difference between that God and the gods (Isaiah 46.1-4). Consider: cast all your worries on him because he cares for you (1 Peter 5.7). Song 152 (Praises)
