Sunday 6th July Acts 15.1-11
Qn. 5
…”Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved” (1): Could be that those who were teaching were from the group of Pharisees, who emphasized circumcision as the custom of Moses, for one to be accepted as a Christian. After thorough study, the apostles found out that it shouldn’t be a hindrance to the Gentiles. Let’s avoid putting before people things may prevent them from receiving salvation that is given free of charge through Jesus Christ (2 Tim. 2.10). …Peter stood up and said to them,…(7): After a short time arguments between the apostles and Church leaders, Peter gave his points of view based on his experience. As God had sent him to preach to the Gentiles (10.28-29), Peter understood that the dividing wall between the Gentiles and the Jews had been removed (Eph. 2.11-15). Prayer Request: Pray for the church leaders to get a God’s revelation to be able to address issues of false teachings among their church members.
