Sunday 24th August Job 6.1-30
Qn. 7
“For the arrows of the Almighty are in me;….(4): The pain of Job must be heavier than all the sand at the sea, he recognizes that he has nothing to do to change his situation, and thus has to endure it. What a brave man (11-14). We are also always curious about the end of what we pass through, but God in his wisdom has made it a secret for us to only obey him and rely on him. He is all knowing (Omniscient) and Almighty (Omnipotent). So, since we know him as Almighty, they why should we worry? (Is. 43.2-3; 1 Pet. 5.7). …, For I have not denied the words of the Holy One (10): Even though Job has a lot of pain, yet he’s getting some comfort, which helps him to stay in close relationship with God (15.11), and that’s why he doesn’t stray too far and go against his will (1 Cor. 10.10). Considering what Job got from God, he cannot do anything that would lead to perdition. He has the free will to do what he personally wishes, or alternatively he may be enticed by some other people (27.6). A Christian avoids anything that may hinder his relationship with God, and he ensures that he truly trusts God. Advice: Our faith shouldn’t be manifested only during hard times, but also when we are well off and in peace.
