Sunday 23 June Leviticus 11.24-47 Qn .2

“And these are unclean to you among the swarming things that swarm on the ground: the mole rat,  the mouse, the great lizard of any kind, (29): This category contains the swarming animals which are despised by a number of nations. After listing all these animals that were not to be eaten or touched when dead (39), God explained to his people the reason why all of these were prohibited. It was to avoid those that may harm their lives or turn them unclean (43). God did all of these because of his love for his people and his plan to protect them in all. For I am the Lord your God. Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am holy (44): who could think that even the choice of the food to eat or not to eat would determine our respect to God or our praise to him? The people of God should have values to protect them from anything unclean, food included. Consider: So, whether you eat or drink, or  whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Song 14 (Salvation)
