Sunday 18 February John 10.22-30 Qn.2,3
…, How long will you keep us in suspense?… (24) Instead of celebrating the feast of the sanctification of the temple of Jerusalem, some people were busy trying to ask Jesus questions with a target of trapping him that if he said something contrary to what they used to, then they could get the reason to accuse him. Jesus knew the suitable words to use in such a time, this made him able to discover all their traps and they ended up with nothing to reproach him for. Speaking to the Jews, he made it clear that what made them not believe in him was because they were not of his sheep (26). There was a time when Jesus told the Jews that if they remained in his word, they would know the truth and that truth would save them (John 8.31-32). In his conversation with the Jews, he explained to them the benefits of becoming his, he told them that his sheep were offered eternal life and that no one could snatch them out of his hands (28). Whoever in in the hands of Jesus is highly secured that nothing can touch him. Question: How do you believe in Jesus? Does believing in him make you move and act fearlessly? Song 109 (Praises)
