Sunday 14 January John 5.1-18 Qn.1,3
Take up your bed, and walk (11): the Jewish leaders didn’t want to know who have healed the patient who was thirty eight years ago crippled. The only thing they wanted to know was who told the patient to take up his bed on the sabbath (12). Today there are people who are rigid in their religious traditions and this made them forget to join others in praising God for what he has done for them. It is worthy to control ourselves. …See, you are well! Sin no more(14): When Jesus healed the patient he did not only healed him the body but also saved his spirit and made it clean, he asked the healed not to make himself dirty anymore. Jesus wanted to show that sin has far bad consequences than staying thirty eight years crippled. My Father is working until now, and I am working (17): Jesus did not try to explain to the leaders that he never healed the patient on the Sabbath, but he boldly explained to them that God still perform miracles until now. Consider: Our God never tires, never rest, every time he works for those who believe in him. (Psalm.121.4). Song 75 (Salvation)
