Saturday 24 February Isaiah 40.1-11 Qn.5
Speak out words of comfort to Jerusalem, (2) This prophecy of Isaiah is being addressed to the Jews. It‘s a revelation of the situation when they will have returned from their captivity. These are words that comfort people’s hearts, telling the people of Jerusalem that their tragedy was coming to an end. There are times when some people around us pass through difficulties, and nobody seems to be caring at all. Do you ever wish to be a comforter of the broken-hearted, someone who can unite people with God? (2 Kor. 3-5). He will gather the lambs in his arms;… gently lead those that are with young. (11). Our God we trust is powerful (Psalm 79.11), he is the genuine Shepherd (Psalm 23.1). He cares for everyone entrusted to him. In all the trials you face, always bear in mind that what God said to you will be fulfilled. God will always intervene in your situation and your sorrows will be turned into joy. Pray: Lord Jesus, allow me to walk with you from today onwards, as you enable me to listen to your comforting voice. Song 18 (Praises)
