Saturday 15 June 2 Corinthians 10.1-11 Qn.1

June 15, 2024 - June 16, 2024

I, Paul, myself entreat you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ (1): Paul met some people who opposed his work of evangelism, yet he was not discouraged since he knew already that Satan was always against evangelism (3-5). He decided to preach them gently, and to be characterized by meekness and kindness just like Christ was. This is not normal in the thinking of men. What is normal is to return wrong for wrong, but since Paul had known the need for the meekness and kindness that was in Christ; no doubt that he could constantly pray about that. He informed them that the mandate he got from Jesus was only to empower them and not to destroy them. Paul preached to them urging them not to judge anyone based on outside appearance, but to know and always remember that all people are valuable in the eyes of God. He could express his love for them, assuring them that his intention was for them to be united, live in harmony; support each other as they served God together. Question: How much do we express love to those who might be against us?
