Monday 3 June Leviticus 5.1-13 Qn.4

June 3, 2024 - June 4, 2024

When he realizes his guilt in any of these and confesses the sin he has committed, he shall bring to the Lord as his compensation for the sin that he has committed (5): The Holy God does not tolerate evil and the like. Sins of all kinds including those which you can commit and forget like touching on the the unclean (2), quick vows that may not be fulfilled (4), or decline to tell the truth about what you know and have been called to testify (1), all of these too should be repented of and sacrificed for. Sometimes we tend to categorize sins, taking some to be greater than the others, but to God every sin is punishable by law and has to be repented of. “But if he cannot afford a lamb, (7): If it was sin there could be no favoritism, everyone had to repent and ask for forgiveness by paying sacrifices. The poor were allowed to sacrifice doves, and the most poor who could not even afford doves could bring flour with no oil and with no frankincense on it (11). Consider: For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23). The rich and the poor alike need to be forgiven. Song 131 (Praises)
