Monday 10 June Leviticus 9.1-24 Qn.2
For today the Lord will appear to you.’ (4): On the last day of their sanctification for the work, the priests concluded the seven days of sanctification by offering for themselves sin and burnt offerings (2), and then he sacrificed for the people of Israel three kinds of offerings as ordered: sin, burnt, and peace offerings respectively (3-4). They did all of this with a promise that the Almighty will have to stand with them (4). And Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting, and when they came out they blessed the people, and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people (23). This is a great lesson to everyone who leads the people of God. Before doing anything or telling them anything, he/she has to first appear before God and come back to bless the people. The servant of God, Bill Graham, once said “Before telling people about God, first tell God about those people”! Consider: When God is honored somewhere, all those around humble themselves in return (24).
