Monday 19th May Judges 3.15-31
Qn. 2
Then the people of Israel cried out to the LORD, and the LORD raised up for them a deliverer, Ehud, the son of Gera,…(15): The life of the Israelites is like a moving circle. When they didn’t conform to their promises with God, they could be defeated and enslaved, and when they cried out to the LORD, he could forgive them and raise up a deliverer for them, and they could eventually defeat their enemies. When the deliverer died, they could again sin, and so on and so forth. When Ehud discovered the LORD’s plan for his people and also how he wanted to use him, he came up with clear goals, and set up some strategies, with an adequate work plan (16-23). This resulted into the defeat of Moabites, and there was peace for 80 years. People usually change, but God doesn’t at all. And he also saved Israel (31): The killing of 600 people with an oxgoad was spectacular. It was the LORD’s promise to give them victory over their enemies. Once God calls you for a certain service, never despise yourself. God’s strength becomes more manifest when we feel our strength is over. Advice: Share with other people around you about how God has ever used you, so that they may also accept to go wherever he sends them to serve him.
