Qn. 2, 4
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me (18): This was the last meeting of Jesus with his disciples while he was still on earth. He told them some words to comfort them after the traumatic moments around his death. He was leaving them with a mandate which they had to carry out with the required boldness. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations (19): the mandate Jesus left with his disciples was to make disciples of different nations, calling them to follow him. In order to achieve that, they had to: 1) Reach out to people various areas where they are located, and preach the gospel to them; 2) Baptize those who get converted, as a sign of the transformation that could have occurred in their lives; 3) Teaching them the word of God, so that they become affirmed in their faith. Today, you also called to spread the good news of Jesus. The disciples alone could not accomplish that mandate, but Jesus decided to be alongside them (20). This word needs God’s power. Reflection: How much have you done of this work of making people disciples of Jesus Christ? Song 414 (Praises).
