Tuesday 13th May Galatians 6.1-10

May 13

Qn. 4

…Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted (1): The people led by the Holy Spirit have the responsibility of approaching those who could have fallen into sin, help the person to repent and reconcile herself or himself with God, others, and also with herself/himself. This has to be done in love and kindness. It would be a disaster if one sinned and the others behave as if nothing happened or else keep talking scornfully about her or him. There are times when the person who could have sinned is publicly exposed, stopped from coming to the Church gatherings, and people seem to behave as hypocrites (Mat. 23.28). Everyone must keep watch on oneself as there is no vaccination to sin, whereby anyone is likely to sin at any time. It’s out of love that people in the Church manage to carry one another’s burden and each one takes charge of caring for the other (2). And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up (9):  A Rwandan proverb “Ijya kurisha ihera ku rugo”—which means that don’t begin from far away, make your family first priority, and then similarly in the Church, the members must bear fruit beginning with where they belong, and inevitably they will reap in due season. Consider: Let verse 2 guide you all along. Song 409 (Praises).
