Friday 9 February John 8.21-30 Qn.6

…And you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come,… “ (21): Jesus continued to have problems with the Jews because they did not understand what he was saying. In this passage, he was declaring that he was about to leave, that they will seek and not find him and that they will die in their sins. He added that where he was going they would not be able to go (22). On one side this is understandable because he was talking about heaven while they were of the world. The people of the world cannot understand the things of heaven unless they are given a special revelation (23-24). As he was saying these things, many believed in him (30): Jesus continued the teaching to conclude by telling them about his coming death, and this caused a big number of people to believe in him. Have you believed in him and accepted him in your life? If not yet, this could be your opportunity to do so. Consider: This is the right time to step forward and believe in him in order to be saved (2 Cor.6.1-2, Isaiah 55:6), and if you are already, then pray for those who are not. Song 199 (Praises)
