Friday 8th August Matthew 20.29-34
Qn. 1, 3
And Jesus in pity touched their eyes, and immediately they recovered their sight and followed him (34): When these blind men cried out to Jesus, the people around rebuked them. However, they were well aware that they were in dire need of sight recovery, so that they could be able to see like other people. It’s obvious that everyone around Jesus was self-centered, minding only about their own needs. No one other than Jesus paid attention to anyone else’s pain. The Bible tells us that Jesus had mercy on these men. Sometimes in our time, those who don’t lack anything are the ones people pay attention to. For some people, those are the opinion leaders, people of influence. Yet Jesus taught us to have ears that are different from those of the world, to be able to listen to those in need, and serve them instead of rebuking them. Jesus is the merciful Lord. Prayer: Lord Jesus, enable me to always serve your people; and defend those who are vulnerable.
