Friday 31 May Leviticus 3.1-17 Qn.7

May 31, 2024 - June 1, 2024

“If his offering is a sacrifice of peace offering (1): This is another sort of offering that was for those who had the intention to thank God for peace (Lev. 7:12). This peace means a lot of things because it was the offering that they were alive, had been blessed in certain ways, like bearing child, gaining some wealth, and so on. Actually this sacrifice should have not been classified in the sacrifices that Jesus replaced, because it could be more of an offering than a sacrifice. Thank God for the peace we are enjoying at no cost. Then from the sacrifice of the peace offering he shall offer as a food offering to the Lord its fat; (9): This offering had to be split into parts, because all the blood was to be sprinkled on the altar (2, 8, 13), taking the lamb and other fat meats to be burnt to make the sweet aroma to God, but the remaining parts were to be eaten and shared with others (Leviticus 7.19. The priest could take a fair share of the thigh and the breast (Lev 7.33 -34). Consider: Everyone should be characterized by a generous and considerate heart. Song 334 (Praises)
