Friday 25th July Judges 17.1-13
Qn. 4
…., And ordained one of his sons, who became his priest (5): That man Micah was marked by wickedness: a) A thief; b) He served idols, and this was abominable in the sight of God (Ex. 20.2); c) He took Ephod, usually worn by the LORD’S prophet, and gave it to his son to sacrifice to idols (5; Ex. 28.4). There are times when a person defiles himself, committing one after another, and forgetting what the word of God tells us (Ps. 50.21). In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes (6): A nation without leadership goes into chaos, the Israelites were unruly and everyone did what was right in his own eyes (6). People are called upon to always thank God the good leadership in the country, and also pray for the leaders to accept to be under God’s guidance. Consider: In all your life hardships, never forsake God your Creator, in order to replace him with idols.
