Friday 20th June Judges 10.1-18
Qn. 3
After Abimelech there arose to save Israel Tola the son of Puah,..(1a): Tola and Jair are the Israel’s judges who have been talked about the least of all, yet this does not imply that they did not perform well at their services. Their services cannot be diminished by the fact that they were confined mainly in the east of Jordan in other words among the tribe of Gad, that of Reuben, and part of the tribe of Manasseh. During their time, the whole of Israel was stable, with impeccable leadership, given that even the sons of Jail were teaming up with him (4). The life of a leader who honors God and values his family showers the nation with blessings. And the LORD said to the people of Israel, “Did I not save you from the Egyptians, the Amorites, and the Ammonites, and from the Philistines? (11): Several times, the LORD could save the Israelites from the hands of their enemies (3.1; 4.24), yet after they Israelites had rest, they could again serve the gods of the Canaanites. Brethren be alert because during the time of rest, that’s when the enemy attacks us with an intention to lead us into sin again. Prayer Request: Pray for the Christians who have become apathetic, to wake up and serve God when they still have the opportunity. Song 273 (Praises).
