Friday 11th July Acts 16.25-40
Qn. 1, 3
Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” (30): The jailer had heard that those men were preachers of the way of salvation (17). At that when he considered the earthquake and death seemingly approaching him; he wished to know about that way of salvation. If you personally got saved after passing through a critical situation, never backslide due to the fact that you are now in a better situation. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family (33): As the jailer believed in Jesus and acted kindly towards Paul and Silas, all of his family also were baptized with him. As we engage ourselves in God’s ministry, even if we meet hardships all along, God is always there with us, and he provides us with a way out (1 Cor. 10.13). Consider: We only get saved by our faith in Jesus, and it’s also where we get delivered from Satan’s bondage (30-31).
